The Art of Making Coffee for the Bees and Craft for the Drones!
I was roaming in the park for my morning ritual when I met an energetic, fit as fiddle and always smiling Junaid Khan. While walking together exchanging introductions I learnt that this young entrepreneur had a steadily progressing career in financial and banking sector in England, but time being the best teacher, Junaid understood that fulfilling of social desirability isn’t enough to sustain personal happiness and growth as a person. Though he had a high paying job and leading a luxurious life in a world class city, still there was a persistent discontent, surges of anxiety, and discontentment. He understood that doing whatever society consider successful is not the guarantee of happiness. After having a deep thought from inside, he knew it within that Pakistan offers many possibilities, not only because it is one of the emerging economies of all time but is home as well. That was enough reason for him to settle down in Karachi. After settling down in Karachi, Junaid wanted to do something for children as Karachi as a city didn’t offered much recreation for children other than zoos and fun parks. He wanted something more inventive where a child could nurture his creative being in a natural and fun environment and thus came up, Buzzing Beez, the play café.
Being an avid traveller, an idea of a play café wasn’t new to me, but I was inquisitive to know, how much evenhandedness Junaid has had with his venture and that landed me at Buzzing Beez, on 17th Street, off Khayaban e Seher, of the affluent DHA neighbourhood. The first impression of the place upon me was warm and delightful. The café has a creative wall, play and activities room and a LEGO area for kids and a nice expedient dine in space. I sat in a corner, studying the menu, which consisted of simple, healthy and affordable food and drinks. Great tea and coffee and with good wholesome food and tasty snacks, definitely, not going to be a dent on anybody’s pocket..
Looking after little ones is tough, so being able to get out of the house, actually finish a hot drink and relax whilst your kid burns off energy and has fun can make all the difference to feeling a little more human! And like many parents, socialising is as important as nurturing a kid, but in today’s busy environment it becomes tough to do both, but here at the Buzzing Beez Café it is where parents can spend their leisure time and children can play and learn in the soft area. With a team of highly supportive and friendly staff this café is is a learning-based platform for children based on STEM learning with continuous workshops about robotics, arts and craft, yoga, music, dance being held at the café. Apart from regular workshops fun filled unvarying schedule of events such as logo competitions, role play, drama, Grandparents Day, Defence Day, Quaid’s birth anniversary, and affairs implanting awareness on environmental hazards through green weeks are also conducted here.
This play café exuded happiness from all its corners, and is a combination of education and entertainment, something that may be termed as ‘edutainment’… Even the name Buzzing Beez is catching enough to make everyone smile as the philosophy behind it that team work bees do to make the honey is a value that needs to be taught to our younger generation for a more sustainable Pakistan. I wish Junaid Khan and his entire team all the success in their endeavor and recommend you all to visit this café with you junior bees and whilst they can explore and make friends, you may just relax.
Thank you Kevin. Keep supporting!
